H.o.B. is a family-run microbakery that specializes in organic sourdough breads and other naturally fermented breads and pastries. Breads made in this traditional style take days to make and have a taste and texture that's different from store-bought breads. We think the end result is well worth the wait.

We also love making video content about the baking process and new things we're working on. You can watch those videos on our Instagram. We have a lot of fun baking together and making these videos and we hope you enjoy watching them.

SO HOW DO I GET SOME BREAD?

We post on our Instagram account @houseofbread_slc when and how much we'll be baking—usually on Saturday or Sunday mornings, and we always sell out fast! We currently don't do pre-orders but we may in the future. We know this system isn't ideal for some, but for now if you want to score some bread, it's gonna have to be through the Gram.

We’ll get you your bread, or you can stop by to pick it up. Eat and enjoy!

WHAT WE BAKE

Our two staples are the Country Roads Sourdough and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sourdough. The Country Roads sourdough is our take on a classic country sourdough. The Jalapeño Cheddar Sourdough uses the same dough, but has a solid amount of sharp cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeños in every loaf. It's a lot of cheese. We also bake croissants, cruffins, sourdough baguettes and tarts, although not as often. Everything we make is naturally leavened.

COUNTRY ROADS SOURDOUGH

Made from a blend of high-protein bread flour, malted artisan bread flour and whole wheat flour. Sometimes less is more.

JALAPEÑO CHEDDAR SOURDOUGH

Same dough as our country loaf but with a ludicrous amount of cheese and sliced jalapeños. Sometimes more is more.

DEMI BAGUETTES

Slightly different flours and method, but still organic, still naturally leavened, and delightfully crunchy.

CRUFFINS

Made with a laminated dough. We usually dip these in dark chocolate and fill them with vanilla cream. Too good.
